And the fall festivities continue!
Chaddsford Winery is the largest winery in Pennsylvania and arguably the most popular and well known. On Sundays in October, Chaddsford is hosting ‘Spiced Apple Sunday’ which features hot mulled spiced apple wine AND hot caramel apple alongside of their usual vintage selections.
My better half and I met our friends at this impressive facility for an afternoon tasting. Chaddsford offers 7 wines plus the two apple blends for $10 and you can keep the glass. As Fran and I have been here a number of times we can outfit a good sized party with our collection of ‘Chaddsford Winery’ embossed glassware.
The winery offers self guided tours of the wine making process and they also do more in depth group tours.
My fave is the Proprietors Reserve red, a great house wine of which I have procured a few bottles in the past. Chip, Michelle, John, Kris, Fran and myself picked up some Niagra and a bottle of Sunset Blush and enjoyed the great fall weather. Chaddsford wines are a local favorite and are available at many local wine stores, not just on site.
We went through the tasting around noon which worked out well because the place really filled up as the afternoon went on. “Nick’s Chicks” had a barbecue stand on the grounds and I can personally attest to the awesome quality of the crab cakes and pulled pork. There’s nothing like good wine, great food and awesome friends to kill a Sunday afternoon.
Lots more to come! Please leave a comment and let us know what you would like to see in future posts.
