Mead – Wine Term of the Week

Mead - Wine Term of the WeekMead is a type of wine that is produced from fermented honey and water. It is sometimes referred to as “honey wine”. Like regular grape based wine it may be dry or sweet, sparkling or non-sparkling. The alcohol content may also vary quite a bit between different variants of mead.

In July the crew here at UR is planning a visit to a winery which offers it’s own brand of mead along with several different fruit based varietals. I’m looking forward to the trip as it promises to be a somewhat unique winery experience. Please check back for details.
