Sledgehammer

Sledgehammer Cabernet SauvignonOk so there’s this girl at work who’s a big wine lover. She told me about this Cabernet Sauvignon that is as powerful as a punch in the face. It’s called Sledgehammer and it’s endorsed by Adam Carolla, an angry middle aged white guy … not completely unlike myself. I’m actually reading his book right now. Lots of rage & strong opinions … but pretty damn funny.

I had to try it. Of course the stranglehold that the PA Wine & Spirits stores have on their selection translated to me having to special order this stuff. It only took a week to come in so no big deal. (Note: The PA Wine & Spirits stores aren’t as bad as I make them sound … it just seems like the goods I want are never available)

My wife coincidentally prepared a homemade hamburger pizza for tonight that just needed a warm up in the oven. Bold red wine & pizza is becoming a trend for me. Hey if it works, don’t mess with it. And this particular meal & the Sledgehammer went so well together I felt compelled to write this post instead of pay bills tonight.

The Sledgehammer website claims that their wine is not for sipping & swirling. This Cab is for drinking & not analyzing. Bold & complex. Well balanced. Strong finish. This is a man’s wine.

Well … a chick turned me on to it. Thanks Karin.

And I swirled it and took a noseful. Sue me.

I’m in for the Zin. Yes, that was intentional rhyme. 😉
